I really like this foundation, I love it for day to day life. It’s easy to wear and it doesn’t look like you are wearing anything. I also like the packaging as it makes it easy to carry around. The shade is a perfect match for me and it’s all I’ve been wearing since I got it. Foundation is one of the most important makeup products in your beauty routine.

The doe-foot applicator made getting just a touch out easier for highlighting the high points of the face, though it was less useful for getting product for mixing in. The finish is glowy and looks very smooth on the skin. The best part is that despite being so luminous is actually dry on the face and it doesn’t create that greasy feeling. Out of the foundations that I’ve tested as of late, the Charlotte Tilbury Light Wonder is up there – four out of five stars, perhaps?
It delivers a natural looking flawlessness with minimal effort and you hardly need any product to cover the whole face. I think it gets more velvet-matte (very natural), the more you use, and I also think it’s looks better on the skin the longer you wear it. The coverage I would describe as sheer, buildable to a medium. Out of the tube, #4 looks neutral enough to match my olive skin but it oxidises to a slightly warmer hue – nothing major but something to consider. The best way to apply this foundation is with a dense but fluffy brush.
I found Charlotte Tilbury Beautiful Skin foundation to be really brilliant on redness. It covers it quickly in a very natural way, without masking. It honestly looks incredible on, it doesn’t have much coverage but you can see how radiant makes my skin look. Now, it boggles my mind that cosmetic creators keep adding token amounts of SPF to foundations – in this case SPF15. That’s not enough to provide sufficient sun protection (don’t be fooled, apply a decent sunscreen underneath) AND THEN it poses a photography risk. If I were to skip the powder, the sheen would draw attention to microscopic lumps and bumps (am I looking too closely? Maybe) but a dusting of powder and the finish is very flattering on texture.
I actually don’t love a gloss all over, I find it catches the light on the t-zone to make it look more textured than it actually is. I much prefer the foundation once the t-zone has been powdered. It is such a light formula, and you can stretch the smallest dot of product over your whole face. You can layer for more coverage, but it literally covers everything and still looks like skin. I usually like a glowy foundation but this is so good. So I thought I would cut straight to the chase with the shade chat.

It is very durable and lasts the whole day, even when it’s hot. Aside from the little extra sheen, it wore beautifully. Where some foundations look downright unsightly towards the end of the day, the Light Wonder doesn’t awkwardly cake up, separate or sink into laugh lines. The finish is quite mattifying too, so for the smoothest finish, make sure you prep your skin well with a good serum, moisturiser and primer as hydration is key.

I am combination – dehydrated with a bit of an oily t-zone – and it works well for me. You may need a good setting powder if you are more on the oily side. The skincare ingredients within the formula also claim to work on reducing pigmentation over time. Fans of Light Wonder will most likely enjoy the new Beautiful Skin foundation. It is more of a full bodied formula, slightly thicker in texture and fuller in coverage, but it gives a dewiness that LW also delivers.
From the shade of preview shades I have been sent, I decided that 4 Warm was my best match. I love to test new products but I hate wasting money so here you can find my honest reviews and thoughts on the most popular products. The formula is quite thin and runny, it feels like water, you have to shake it before applying it. I like that is travel-friendly and clumsy proof, I think that’s why it’s less expensive than usual.

There is Rose Complex for dullness, dryness, pigmentation and dark circles, and Hyalurosmooth for uneven texture, dryness and dullness. I love pink and my style tends to be pretty natural. At the five hour mark, I’m craving a blot and I’m normal to dry.

I have since received some more shades and will update the swatches soon. There is some transfer on my masks when I have worn them, but this is pretty much standard even with more long-wearing formulas. Yes I find that one layer covers most of my pigmentation very well, and then you can dab on a little extra over an areas of deeper pigmentation for a bit more coverage.
